"He's an oversexed shark-wrestling wage mage haunted by an iconic dead American confidante. She's a bloodthirsty Bolivian Valkyrie with her own daytime radio talk show. They're Shadowrunners!"

Alright - this is on my plate for couple weeks now…

A quote from the PowerSource site:

Mark has had the pleasure of working with some talented surfers in the past, & a few living legends, including Chris Malloy & Joel Fitzgerald […] featured in his shaping bay on the film “Litmus”.

We had the pleasure to visit Powersource Surfboards last weekend in Kinlough, County Leitrim, Ireland. I bought one of their boards, a “Magic Carpet” about two months back. The visit was a fantastic experience, especially because owner and shaper Mark McGuire was nice enough to show us his workshop and various shaping rooms. It was absolutely awesome to see where my board was born and to have the opportunity to meet it’s creator. Mark is shaping boards for 30 years now and must have given birth to thousands of boards. He told us about his early surfing career and how he got into learning the art of shaping. His mentor was Nigel Semmens as far as I can recall - but definitely from Ocean Magic (It is a shame that I cannot remember…)
It was a very unique experience and something that I will always remember when looking at my board. There are a lot of other amazing things to cover, but Mark is keeping it “low key” and so do I :)

I decided to ditch my old Wordpress blog and start all over again with tumblr. The last big change was moving from e107 to Wordpress a few years ago. Back then I was migrating all content as well - this is not going to happen this time (it’s no biggie…). I always felt very uncomfortable anyways with a blog not living up to my own expectations. The new and interesting stuff just went right out via twitter and I felt no need to elaborate too much on things.

So now tumblr - I want to give it a try and see for myself why it’s so popular. One big disadvantage is certaily flexibility - particularly SEO related things seem rather difficult to achieve, but then again I have no real experience with customizing tumblr and this site has always been my personal playground without any “ranking targets” in mind - so from that perspective it doesn’t really matter :)

Talking about flexibility - I am currently developing a custom “blogging” CMS on AppEngine which then would allow me to have full control over everything - no more fiddling in weird Wordpress php plugin code any longer :)

Let’s see how it goes!
